BALLET
Creative Dance:
- Pink short sleeved leotard
- Pink chiffon wrap skirt
- Pink ballet socks
- Pink satin full soled ballet shoes with elastic
Pre-Primary and Primary:
- Pink short sleeved leotard
- Pink chiffon wrap skirt
- Pink ballet socks
- Pink satin full sole ballet shoes with elastic
Grade One and Two Ballet:
- Lavender sleeveless leotard with waist elastic
- Pink ballet socks / Pink ballet tights
- Pink full soled satin ballet shoes with elastic
- Black character skirt with lilac ribbons
- Black low heeled character shoes
Grade Three, Four and Five:
- Mulberry sleeveless leotard
- Pink seam-free tights
- Pink satin full soled ballet shoes with ribbons
- Black character skirt with pink ribbons
- Black Cuban heeled character shoes
Vocational Ballet:
- Black thin strap leotard with ruche
- Pink seam-free convertible tights
- Pink satin/canvas split sole ballet shoes
- Pointe shoes (on advisement only).
Modern/Jazz:
- Kingfisher high neck sleeveless leotard (Girls, level 1-3)
- Level 4 only: leotard colour and style of choice (check with Ms Wood first)
- Black lycra cycling shorts (level 1 and 2)
- Black Capri leggings (level 3 and 4)
- Black leather ballet shoes (level 1 and 2)
- Black split sole jazz shoes (level 3 and 4)
Choreography and performance:
- Thin strap black velvet leotard
- Pink seam-free, convertible tights
- Pink satin/leather ballet shoes
BOYS - Ballet:
- Short sleeved white leotard
- Black lycra shorts (pre-primary-Grade 2)
- Navy leggings (Grade 3 and above)
- White ballet socks
- White leather ballet shoes
- Black character shoes
Modern/Jazz:
- Black unitard
- Black leather ballet shoes (level 1 and 2)
- Black jazz shoes (level 3 and 4)
Pilates:
Comfortable clothing to move and stretch in. Bare feet please.
Hair accessories:
Girls will wear matching hair scrunchies.
Edinburgh Ballet Etiquette:
- Correct appearance is essential for effective dance education.
- Hair should be tied back neatly for ballet and choreography, with no fringes or hair in the child’s face. Please see Ms Wood for advice.
- Hair can be worn in a pony tail for modern/jazz.
- Please wear only the specified hair accessories.
- Students should attend classes only in the specified uniform.
- In order to avoid confusion, please ensure that all items are named.
- Nail varnish is not allowed in class.
- For safety reasons, absolutely NO jewellery should be worn in class.
- Punctuality is important, and students should be on time for class. When a student cannot make the start time, please enter the studio quietly without disturbing other children.
- Mobiles phone should be switched off at all times.
- Please leave your valuables at home. Edinburgh Ballet is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Please tidy up after yourself, and put any rubbish the bin.
